Hey valued carers!
We hope you’re all keeping warm and cosy despite this freezing weather. The MHCV are heading towards the end of another financial year and looking forward to working towards a new workplan with our upcoming contract. We are sure the next financial year will be as busy and fruitful as this one was.
Here’s what we’ve been up to this month:
- MHCV is collaborating on several engaging activities as part of Mental Health Month.
- We are continuing the recruitment process for a carer representative on the National Mental Health Consumer and Carer forum (NMHCCF). More details can be found further down in this voice-mail.
- The Carers Recognition Regulation 2021 (ACT) came into effect on the 10th of June. We are currently developing material to support organisations in understanding and implementing the Act.
- The team is contributing on various committees to raise the voice of carers.
We are continuing to post regularly on Facebook, so please head over to our page and give it a like/follow to keep updated with the sector. As always, your voice is vital to the work we do and if you have anything you wish to share please feel free to contact us via email on mhcarers@carersact.org.au.
All the best,
Catherine Joseph and Catherine Vonarx,
The Mental Health Carers Voice Team
