MHCV Team Update
Hi valued carers,
We are officially halfway through the year and done with the financial year—a significant milestone that brings with it reporting and reflection. It’s always good to look back on our achievements and learnings from the year gone by. This month has been notable for other reasons as well, including the release of the 2024-25 budget, which you can read more about below.
This is also a friendly reminder that the 2024 National Carer Survey is still open until the 31st of July! We’re counting on you to share your experiences and represent the voice of ACT carers. Given our smaller jurisdiction, we often have a lower turnout in national surveys, but every response truly counts. The data we gather from this survey will help us advocate effectively for all ACT carers. This is one of the few ways we can obtain the figures we use when talking to both Government and services about how they can best support you. If you prefer not to fill out the survey online, we have a small number of hard copies available at the Carers ACT office. Get in touch with us if you’d like to grab a hard copy or need any help filling out the survey online.

Since the launch of our Strategic Plan last month, you can now find more about our activities over the past month in the ‘What we’ve been up to‘ section. As always, our voice is vital to the work we do and if you have anything you wish to share please feel free to contact us via email mhcarers@carersact.org.au.
All the best,
Catherine Joseph and Catherine Vonarx,
The Mental Health Carers Voice Team
